To re-brand Birmingham City Business School in order to position BCU as a first class educational environment for business professionals. The brand needed to appeal to businesses and help encourage HR managers to get their staff trained at BCU and take on recent graduates from the university
Our approach was to help convey the positive impact that a new BCU graduate can have for a business. We commissioned a photo-shoot to capture recent graduates working within a business environment and coupled these with relevant case studies to outline how the placement benefited the company. To help give the brand an identity we introduced a complementary colour scheme and the “forward arrow” as a visual representation of helping to move a business forward.
“To create the professional, visual style that was needed for this project, while recognising BCU’s status as a university, we blended strong, icon elements with a more professional, muted style that is familiar to the business community.
BCU now have the assets and the brand style to be able to communicate effectively with their target business audience.”

Launched at The National Graduate Recruitment Exhibition, the new brand was a huge success. It was well received by all stakeholders and has helped increase the uptake of courses within the faculty.
