After building their website back in 2014, our friends at BlackCat Solutions – consultants and developers of delivery systems – approached us with a new web project.
We were tasked with rebuilding their existing site, taking into account their new brand direction while seamlessly aligning it with systems such as HubSpot in the design. This would enable BlackCat to streamline various CRM operations including inbound-focused marketing and new talent management.
Before starting on the new design and sitemap, it was key to understand the new user journeys and systems that BlackCat needed to put in place. One of which was HubSpot, which would allow them to collect and analyse more data and manage marketing activities under one CRM system.
Once aligned, our team of web experts were able to incorporate functionality features including cookie notices, google analytics tracking and web based forms. Prior to this decision, the previous website was making use of static forms which had no integration with any marketing platforms. As HubSpot would supply the team at BlackCat with the means to create their own landing pages with ease, we had to ensure that they can be easily linked to the main site.
In addition, to improve the functionality of their careers page (also a vital part of the project) we needed to add another system – Greenhouse – into the new web build. By doing so, it would allow the BlackCat careers team to automatically advertise new job posts on the new site, receive new talent applications and enable CV uploads.
Finally, after deciding that a fresh user experience would benefit the site, our web and creative teams began planning the new design, with thoughts going into layouts and page displays. It was important to consider BlackCat’s already established branding which had recently introduced new brand elements and an expansion of their service portfolio.
Today, the new BlackCat website is a hive of improved functionality, with various systems now aligned and improving areas of the business. With HubSpot and Greenhouse now operational on the new site, Blackcat’s Marketing and Careers Teams are benefitting from the refined structure.
What's more, the new web design greets users with a modernised (but recognisable) brand, featuring key brand messaging while improving user experience with streamlined user journeys.
