Our fine-tuned process for maximum results
We always approach portal and intranet projects in a structured and transparent manner.
The steps below outline our general approach for these type of projects:
Before a web portal or intranet build can commence, we first create a timeline development, with agreed milestones and processes. From that, we start our extensive research stage, designed to review analytics, content and user experience. It's from these results, we then move into information architecture and wireframe development.
Building on information gained at the discovery stage, we will develop the look and feel of your bespoke portal. This includes desktop and mobile mock-ups which are then finalised before the development stage begins. As with all our projects, we’ll involve you fully throughout the process, so that progress is transparent and guided by you where needed.
Once technical build plans are signed off and creative direction is agreed, the development phase of the project can begin. At this stage there's the option of including payment gateways, visitor forums, secure user group areas, or any other bespoke functionality. The development stage also includes any integrations and is where additional site content is added.
Test & Deploy
With portals and intranets, our focus at this stage is on allowing for internal testing, as well as extended users testing if needed. We will normally have options for automated user imports if the data is available to reduce the time needed for registration of new users.
In order to ensure the success of your portal or intranet, we will assist as needed in all areas. In particular, our print management and branding teams may be needed to help organise the assets on your site and ensure consistent availability for users.
Secure hosting and expert support
What happens after the site is launched?
As part of our managed hosting service, we offer on-going CMS support and take care of the site’s security updates and patches installations. Your team can benefit from our in-house experts who are on hand to assist you with any web queries.
Our reliable EU-based web hosting infrastructure has 24/7 uptime monitoring and offers a regular offsite backup service in addition, giving you peace of mind.
Please note: our hosting and support service is available only to bespoke websites built by us.
