The Challenge
WAGO enlisted our services to design an instant win gamification campaign, aimed at motivating electricians to choose WAGO 221 connectors over alternatives available through channel distributors.
For a chance to win, electricians were to purchase a qualifying product and then peel and reveal a unique QR code featured on a box label. Using an online portal, they then entered their details to play the game.
In addition to driving product demand, the campaign needed to capture customer data for future retargeting.
The Process
Primarily, the game needed to be fun, engaging and simple to enter. Keeping this in mind, our team initiated an idea-generation phase, delving into a variety of game concepts and crafting catchy straplines.
Once we finalised the strapline and game mechanism, our focus shifted to envisioning how the game could be implemented across web, email, social media, print, and in-store promotions. This comprehensive approach aimed to stimulate entries consistently throughout the entire duration of the campaign.

The Results
Implemented across WAGO’s distribution network in the UK, the campaign was a huge success, driving a large increase in product demand and generating massive engagement for the brand across Social.
A modified version of the game was also showcased on WAGOs stand during the CEF Live Trade Show, helping to draw huge crowds to the stand on the day. Nearly 40% of event attendees participated in the game, and impressively, over 65% of players chose to subscribe for future marketing communications.
