The Challenge
Civitec approached us to develop a bespoke web tool that would streamline sales communications by automating the creation of client-facing product documentation.
Previously, product documents were created manually, making the process time-consuming and prone to inconsistencies. The new solution needed to extract product imagery, specifications and other key information directly from their Product Information Management (PIM) system, transforming it into branded, downloadable documents that could be quickly shared with clients and prospects.
The Solution
We designed and built a secure, user-friendly web application that enables teams across the business to access and utilise the product information relevant to them.
A powerful search function allows users to quickly locate products within the PIM system. Once selected, they can choose exactly which information to include in the document.
For products with multiple feature options, the tool dynamically displays the relevant feature categories, allowing users to select which features appear in the PDF and edit content where required. This enables the creation of fully customised, branded documents tailored to individual client requirements.
For other product types, the application intelligently adapts to the selected product category, displaying only the relevant fields. Empty fields are automatically omitted, ensuring every PDF is clean, professional and free from unnecessary blank headings.
Every document is automatically branded and formatted for the selected business unit, ensuring a consistent look and feel while enabling teams to produce professional, client-ready documents quickly and efficiently.
