Yes, music is a powerful tool in creative marketing. On its own, music makes us laugh, cry, feel happy, feel sad, et cetera, et cetera. When we start pairing music with advertising, we then start to connect that piece of music with the advert and create lasting memories, and of course that means the all important brand associations. For me personally, I hate GoCompare.com, thanks to that annoying jingle. But hey, it stuck, so I guess it did its job(?).
In fact, Nielsen researched and found out that “commercials with some form of music performed better across four key metrics—creativity, empathy, emotive power, and information power—than those that didn’t.”
